SIGRID STRANGERS

Taking inspiration from tracks like Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ and Lorde’s ‘Green Light’, Sigrid’s new cut ‘Strangers’ is a serious-faced floor-filler. Despite its dark subject matter, that of discovering a romance isn’t quite "like the movies / our story’s after the end", it doesn’t let up at all in its quest to be a brilliantly danceable pop track – with the boppiest of synth lines providing the track’s backbone. Newly signed to Island Records and with the industry alive with mutterings that she’ll top the BBC's Sound Of 2018 poll, all eyes are firmly set on the Scandinavian songstress. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next. -HM
